Just wanted to post in hopes that one the labels, either Intrada, Varese Sarabande,
FSM, or La La Land Records would release Firefox.

I'd buy this in a "spilt-second" or any other soundtrack release to a Clint Eastwood film.

Mild.

I would love to hear this score on record. I believe I heard that Jarre wrote a lot more than was used in the film, but don't recall where.

I love that end title march.

This (and The Rookie by Lennie Niehaus) are the two unreleased gems that I am waiting for.

I would love to see Firefox released--it's controlled by Eastwood's company, Malpaso, though--so it's a little more complicated than you would hope. Just remember: "Think in Russian. Think in Russian."

travesty ['trah-ves-tee] - "an un-released Firefox CD, complete and chronological."

"Better ice up a cold one. I'm comin' home."--Eastwood in Firefox

I think this movie is aging well. Jarre's score might date the picture a little but it's hard to beat the joy of his main theme when Gant finally gets the Firefox off the ground.

Count me in. I've wanted this score for 28 years. Man it doesn't seem that long ago. 1982 was great year for film music, wasn't it?

FYI, some years ago SILVA SCREEN RECORDS recorded the end title theme (Which was produced by James Fitzpatrick) for a Clint Eastwood compilation, but for a variety of reasons they weren't able to use on that collection.

I would hope that someday it see the light of day.

Is that the same track that turned up on the Lawrence Of Arabia re-recording?
Ive been listening to this a lot lately. Its a good, faithful re-recording of the end credits suite.
Highly recommended.
Really hope Intrada has this in the pipeline.

I don't know if it is in anybody's pipeline. Clint owns the majority of music from the movies he's produced and it's rumored to be like pulling teeth to get them.

Was just reading a thread over at the Intrada board were Roger has unfortunatley announced that this one "ain't gonna happen" No reasons given, but a bummer none the less.

What? WHY?!? I mean the fanfare in the end credits that has been re-recorded elsewhere is swell. But there is some KILLER spy stuff in the front half of the film!

You mean, when Gant sees the Mig 31 eyeball to eyball the first time, and Jarre invokes that deep, ominous synth 'Red Devil' rumbling - kind of the opposite but equal equivalent to an eyeing-up confrontation in a Leone/Morricone spaghetti western.
