German DVD distributor Pandastorm have announced the release of the DVD boxed set Siebter Doctor Volume 1 (Seventh Doctor Volume 1).
The set contains the complete Season 24, featuring Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor, and includes all special features that were present on the single story DVD releases in the UK. According to the website of Pandastorm's distribution partner wvg the discs will run for approximately 350 minutes plus 328 minutes of bonus features. Audio and subtitles will be in English and German.
The description for the DVDs reads as follows:

Sadly for me, the McCoy years are the absolute worst of my favourite series. There was something amateur about the whole thing. The storytelling was uninteligable, making Steven Moffat's stuff totally clear by comparison. The acting seemed cringe-worthy, the music by Keff McCulloch the worst ever (theme and scores), and it just wreaked of a corporation desperate to let go, or bury it forever. It's a period where the series was unloved by the people that owned it and it showed.
Or was it just me?

Yes, there were some clunkers. Time and the Rani, Delta and the Bannermen, Dragonfire. However, not all of them are bad. I liked Rememberance of the Daleks, along with Battlefield. Nice to see the Brigadier in action one more time. Other stories such as Curse of Fenric and Ghost Light were regarded by fans as some of the better stories at the time.

Yeah, thjere's some good stuff in there despite the cheap trappings....the aforementioned Curse of Fenric, Battlefield (which I have to say is one of the rare examples of the DVD movie-presentation with revamped effects and re-editing being vastly superior to the TV version), Ghost Light (great writing, but ugh - those costumes!!), Remembrance of the Daleks, Survival...I find Delta and the Bannermen a lot of fun, and I vehemently disagree with you John about Dragonfire!! It's a highlight for me....
...all in all it's probably the most up-and-down era of the show's history - the highs were top-notch, some of the best of all time, but they were almost always way overshadowed by the lows, and by this point the lows were really very bad indeed....and I still can't really watch Silver Nemesis without having some severe feelings of regret over what might have been....
For an interesting add-on to the McCoy era, I recommend having a listen to the "Death Comes to Time" BBC Audio adventure...it's not canon and can't be considered as such, but it's a tremendous listen and the production and writing are excellent.

My problem with everything in the Classic Series after Colin Baker's first full season (so it's not only the McCoys) is that it all comes across as semi professional at best. Like one of those wilderness years straight to video things by Bill Bags, and now still with the Sil video.
This becomes apparent from watching McCoy in the first 15 minutes of the Paul McGann TV movie. He's fine in that and The Hobbit films. Likewise Sophie Aldred in the last Doctor Who special. In fact she was the best thing in it.
I used to think the Dalek one was good but again the last time I saw it it felt like a kids hour thing for the after school crowd.
The only thing to annoy me more was the last few dreadful years of the female Doctor. Jodie was even worse, and she had the benefit of a professional production, which says little of her interpretation, if I can call it that.
