I'm beginning to think Batman isnt going to be that popular. Its been out for 2 days and no one (at least on this board) has commented on it. Since Krull is getting all kinds of comments, it leads me to believe maybe an expanded edition wasnt really in demand. That Krull thread is jumping! Are all of you at Comiccon parties or what? If so...carry one Maybe the Batman fans aren't that much on this board. It's hard for me to believe that this release would be less popular than Krull, which has been released before.

I am currently listening to the set, so I will comment. I am really happy with the release, there are some great bits that I have been waiting a long time to hear apart from the movie, including Bat Zone/Axis Set-Up, the full version of Shootout (First Confrontation on the original album), Batman to the Rescue (when Batman crashes through the skylight), and others. I have only heard the first disc so far, but I am really enjoying the film version of the original score. If you have any interest in the score, I can't recommend buying this set enough. I think it sounds great, but then I have a tough time hearing anything wrong with the G.I. Joe release, so take that for what it is worth. As for the lack of comment, I think the reasons are as others have described, the disc just came out, and Comic Con has things going on until late each night. For example, I was at the con until after 10:00 last night watching the new Batman animated move Under the Red Hood. Also, keep in mind that some of us are not from San Diego, so access to a cd player may be limited. Once the convention is over, however, and con goers are back home, I am sure there will plenty of comments on how great the release is.

If one starts examining the logic of ANY film adaptation of a comic book, it's going to take a book's worth of pages! Why pick on poor Oswald... what about a man who built and ENTIRE batcave complete with super-computers, a rotating turntable for the batmobile, the batmobile itself, etc. BY HIMSELF??? Well, maybe he got some help from 70 year old Alfred. Not to mention all the gadgets and suits. Being rasied by penguins in a sewer pales in comparision. Comic books ask us to suspend logic a GREAT deal. I myself loved the visual look, the effects, and especially Michelle Pfeiffer in "Batman Returns". I will admit the penguin character was a bit much (especially the bile coming out of his mouth), but it didn't take away from the film that much. Is it as good as the first film? Regrettably, no. But, for me, it was still a lot of fun and much better than what was to follow (Schumacher). The music runs the gammot from whimsical to dark gothic. Danny Elfman's work on BOTH Batman films is astonishing considering he had never scored a project on the scale of those two films prior.
