I just watched Murder Most Foul, which I taped off TCM last week. At the end of the movie there's a scene where Miss Marple goes into a hospital and as she does the "Dr. Kildare" theme plays for a few seconds on the soundtrack. I'm not sure if this was Ron Goodwin's idea (since he occasionally slipped snippets of familiar tunes into the Marple scores) or if MGM couldn't resist this bit of self-promotion. In any case, the scores for the Marple films would seem like a natural for FSM since they've released a number of the scores for MGM films of this same period. Is it possible that since the films were made in England MGM in the U.S. does not have access to the original tapes? And for that matter, why not a release of Goodwin's Village and Children of the Damned scores, also produced by MGM?
