Regarding TNG, I don't care about best of both worlds, but I do hope Lukas spend the choir fees for this vital cue:

It's a video they shot on the set to honor Gene Roddenberry (a birthday, I think?) ... I don't remember how it got made public, though.

It was on one of the TNG DVDs, I think at the end of the Gene Roddenberry Tribute featurette on the season 5 boxset.

We could only use 5 minutes of "Best of Both Worlds" due to the existing GNP Crescendo CD. Sorry but there was nothing I could do. We grabbed the best 5 min. of unreleased cues, like the Borg approaching Saturn. (We do have Heart of Glory in its entirety.)

Lukas

Thanks for the info Lukas and for this spectacular release. Whew, I'm glad I have my BOBW TV sdtk.

The Next Generation Ron Jones set is an absolute dream come true! I've loved his music for ages now. I've got a habit of saying "Ronny Jones!" to my family when one of his episodes comes on. It's probably annoying, but I love his music. I emailed him personally a few years back asking if another CD release were possible given the fact that all we've got are the video game scores, The Best of Both Worlds and Heart of Glory... oh and a solitary track from Skin of Evil on a compilation. At the time he said it wasn't possible, but my-oh-my how things have changed. That'll be my one score purchase of September. Hopefully I don't die/get fired before then!

I LOVE YOU FSM!

Hopefully William Olvis' score to "Dr Quinn Medicine Woman," a 1998 Sonic Image release in limbo, will be made available for purchase.

I keep remembering scores that Jones did now that I know this is truly coming. Datalore, QWho?, Brothers, The Emissary, The Nth Degree... It does not get any better than this. Hell, I even re-watched that god-awful episode The Battle just to hear Jones' score in context one last time. This is fantastic news. One of the releases I thought I'd never see is finally coming to fruition. I still can't believe it!!! You guys are #1!

Any plans for Ron Jones signatures?

The box set is a must buy just for Q Who and Devils Due.

Please- let that Omnibus collection include the score for Spielberg's first (television) movie- The Duel (by Goldenberg). How I've longed for that to be released. Sigh.

Another Trek dream soundtrack release fulfilled! Always enjoyed the intro cue in "The Child" and "Evolution," the mysterious, ethereal motifs for the Borg in "Q Who" especially the end before Picard concedes to Q, along with many Season 1 and 2 warp outs at the end of episodes, especially "The Naked Now" and "The Battle"

Any possibility of a release of the TOS scores never released by GNP in a boxset for the 45th Anniversary of Trek next year?

Leaving aside the fact that it's Duel - no definite title - you do realise they said it was from MGM's vaults, not Universal's (Poltergeist is Spielberg's only work for MGM).

I really can't wait for this TNG box. I know its a little early, but could we get a picture of the set?

It was on one of the TNG DVDs, I think at the end of the Gene Roddenberry Tribute featurette on the season 5 boxset.

Exactly so. Supposedly, theres a LOT of footage like this - the TNG cast was known for using the sets as a "nightclub" (Stewart's own words) for dancing, telling bad jokes, singing and bad musical theater. This is the only bit of it I've seen aside from a couple blooper reels that have been in circulation since Season 2 on VHS.

You mean the whole box or just the booklet cover?

Would be cool if they follow this with a box set of the TOS soundtracks. :-)

I am very excited about this set, best of both worlds was already released and I think it sounds just fine. Besides i've heard that music so many times now I want to listen to those great tunes from the defector, datalore, booby trap, and all the other greats! I remember years ago when i E-Mailed Ron and asked if his scores would ever be released, and he said it was unlikely. But now to see what these are so close to actually coming to light is great. I can't wait!

Well aren't you clever. Nice avatar wink

I was thinking more like the "beauty shots" of the box, the cases and the discs - like you showed when you first announced the Superman set.
