When are they going to release albums of the music from the BBC shows Primeval and Survivors. Primeval had amazing pieces to the point one reviewer remarked that "big screen sound"(film). Survivors may not have a lot of music but what it has Edmund Butt(Life on Mars) is amazing.
The BBC seems to release everything Doctor Who, Torchwood and must have gotten the connection between scifi, classical scores and sales but there doesn't seem to be any movement.

The programme I was most surprised to see on BBC America when I was on holiday, though, was... Star Trek: The Next Generation. (Yeah yeah, Patrick Stewart - but that's still no excuse. They might as well get the cable rerun rights to Lie To Me, 100 Questions or other American shows where the leading character is played by a Brit speaking with his (or her - 100 Questions stars Sophie Winkleman) normal voice.)
I liked Edmund Butt's music for Survivors - I'd buy a CD release of that. Don't suppose it will happen now though.
Even BBC Natural History Unit shows don't seem to get soundtracks any more. George Fenton's Planet Earth was afforded a luxurious release but I don't think anything has come out since then (like Fenton's own Life, which is wonderful music, or Butt's Yellowstone - magnificent - or Barnaby Taylor's wonderful work on Nature's Great Events or Wild China or The Great Rift). Great music there, a real shame nobody will ever hear it outside the shows.

When are we going to see Survivors score cd? It's Edmund Butt who is always great. Only way to get some glimpses if his scores are non film CDs on iTunes.
What's going on in UK where things like this and State of Play aren't released? Where is British Intrada,FSM, or LaLaLand
Ahhh... Survivors. Anthony Issac's wonderful theme. Now THAT was a real TV theme tune. I bet no one here knows what I'm talking about. Shame.
Oh yes we do Heath. Classic series. And one we featured heavily in Time Screen magazine. I remember as a kid writing to Radio Times asking if they were going to release the theme as a single, which as you know they did a lot of in those days. It didn't get printed, but someone else's did, and the reply was that there was going to be a single, but it never appeared.

Maybe it was because it featured a fairly large orchestra and the Beeb didn't want to stump for fees, or maybe they couldn't find a suitable B side. Who knows...? Sad thing is that Issac seems to have vanished - little information about him seems to exist since the 80s. I fear he either passed away, or left the music field completely.
I liked Isaac's Survivors music, which I thought suited the series very well. He wrote a nice theme for the BBC series Warship too. He seemed to get his name on a lot of programmes in the 70's and early eighties.
And does anyone remember the short lived ITC series Skiboy? He did the music for that
