Inspired by an idea by Ka-razyfilmscorefan, I thought we could have some fun creating playlists for LP album presentations that never were. Often times, the argument for C&C is defended by saying "We can always make our own 'album edits' in iTunes if we want to". So, I'm thinking this might be an opportunity to share some playlists that you might have created by cherry-picking your favorite cues from your favorite C&C release. I remember when Goonies was released, there were many people suggesting a 40 minute program might work better. Heck, we might even be able to give Thor some therapeutic ideas to make his listening experiences better. (Disclaimer: I happen to be on the side of supporting C&C releases. I think we should have the complete score as recorded, but I enjoy using technology to create authentic and pleasing listening experiences also.) As an example, here's Ka-razyfilmscorefan's original post, which was his own imaginary LP presentation for PREDATOR: And, since I do this type of thing sometimes, I tried to compile a would-be LP tracklist for those of us who aren't happy with the 70+ minute representation. There's far too much stuff to warrant such a brief release in my opinion (and so much of it is left off of a 40+ minute representation that it's almost an exercise in futility) but I did my best with the time constraints. I tried to think of the cues that come to mind when the word PREDATOR is floating around in between my ears. I also tried to think of the various themes and how to represent them. Hopefully it's to someone's liking. Side A (Roughly 20.5 minutes) 1. Main Title 2. Payback Time 3. The Waiting 4. The Girl's Escape 5. Something Else 6. We're All Gonna Die Side B (Roughly 21.25 minutes) 1. Battle Plans 2. Hand to Hand Combat 3. Predator's Big Finish 4. End Credits (The Rescue) I think it's kinda neat that he programmed in a side 1/side 2 break, as though there were an actual LP release of Predator. So, anyone have a playlist they're proud of? A presentation that is "just right"?

I don't think so. It's not something I find particularly rewarding, nor am I really qualified to do so. Thor, I'm not trying to start a debate, but I always read statements from you along the lines that "we aren't qualified to make album presentations" and so forth. What makes the record producers so qualified and not us? You can't teach creativity. Either you've got it or you don't. I'm not saying that I'm a master at this or that I should be doing it for a living, but it's kind of odd. It's like saying you shouldn't draw unless you're a professional artist. Anyway, onto the reason I resurrected this topic... I listened to Inner Space again fairly recently, remembering that the chronological presentation isn't quite 100% as exciting as it seems in film. Considering various comments I've read on the board, it seems to be a somewhat common opinion. I love it, but it's lacking something. Therefore, I created a fake LP presentation. Now, before you read this keep in mind that when I use a title like "The Charge" I don't merely mean just that half of the cue. I'm referring to "State of the Art/The Charge" but it's a funky title to work with and Jerry didn't really do that in his track lists so I abbreviated titles like that. Side A (roughly 21 minutes) 1. Main Title 2. The Charge 3. Take Him Home 4. Optical Nerves 5. The Cowboy 6. Gas Attack Side B (roughly 21 minutes again) 1. Out of the Pod 2. The Womb 3. Transformed 4. Stop the Car 5. Disengage Hope it works for someone! As a side note, I make these lists for fun but about 99.9% of the time I listen to the CD presentation.
