Thor,
Thanks for the compliment.
I'm more into the original Doctor Who than the new one. At the moment, I'm enjoying revisiting Star Trek:Enterprise, thanks to the reruns on HDNet. Sometimes, three episodes a day just isn't enough for me. LOL

I bet that looks great in HD. I already have the DVDs, but I'll gladly rebuy it on Blu-Ray whenever it's released and I upgrade to a BR player.

I'd rather watch Scrooge, with the wonderful Alistair Sim, but that's just me.

I finally saw that version a year or two ago and enjoyed it. My favorite, though, is still the 1984 version with George C. Scott.

I tried to watch ENTERPRISE, but gave up after the first season. I simply didn't connect to it (then again, I've never really connected to ANY of the STAR TREK incarnations, film as well as TV). Also, I'm ONLY into the newer DR. WHO, not the older - so I'm quite unlike you there, psicorpsranger. smile

Back to topic, I think I saw this American Christmas film once. It's in colour, right?

Do we know what the status is of the film recordings for White Christmas? It'd be lovely to have an album with the songs and score--I'm especially fond of the instrumental of "We'll Follow The Old Man" that plays in the scene where Bob reads the letter to General Waverly.

That really creeped me out when I was a kid. Without a doubt the scariest film Marley, and the creepiest incarnation of Ignorance and Want.

One of the stupidest things I ever did was sell my dye-transfer print of WHITE CHRISTMAS. I tripled my investment, but I wish I still had the print. I used to sing "Count Your Blessings" to my daughter at bedtime.

Based on this prior thread (http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=38139&forumID=1&archive=1), it appears as if a mono music and effects track has survived. The instrumental cue you mention (with perhaps a few paper rustles) could probably be taken from that track.

However, there's nothing harder than getting song clearances. They couldn't even get the principal singers together for an actual soundtrack album back at the time of the film's release, since they were signed to different labels. I don't know if the intervening years will have made the situation easier or worse.
