So, did anyone ever have a chance to see or hear Elfman's work for the ballet Rabbit & Rogue? Any idea why Serenada Schizophrana got a CD release but this music has not? Is a CD release something that could conceivably happen someday? I imagine Elfman's a big enough name that there would be at least a big as market for a ballet by him as for some of the more obscure golden and silver age scores that get released. . .

Never saw it and would also be very interested too!

Regarding why Serenada got a CD release, I'm pretty sure it had something to do with him already being in the studio to record the version of it that was adapted for Deep Sea 3D. My guess is that he (or someone else) decided it would be better to release the original work instead (performed by a kick-ass studio orchestra!), and taking the opportunity to do so...

I saw the ballet at Lincoln Center two years ago and loved it. I remember portions of it sounding a bit like the melodic first half of 'The Training Montage' from Wanted. It was an excellent companion piece to 'Serenada.'. Sadly, since I've only seen/heard it once I can't give a better description. I hope it gets a recording some day soon.

Cool! I really wish stuff like this would come to Norway, but of course that ain't gonna happen. So I can only hope for a CD release, like most everyone else. Couple it with his Overeager Overture and the score to the puppet show THE FORTUNE TELLER, and I'm game!

Resurrected this thread to register my +ve opinion of Elfman's Rabbit and Rogue ballet score. At the gym [coffee lounge] listening to this on my headphones and it is simply terrific.

I listened to this again the other day too. It's really amazing. I think it's a little easier to get into than Serenda Schizophrana is, but I dearly love both!
