Does anyone know why Oliver Stone hired Craig Armstrong and not Stewart Copeland to score Wall Street 2? Does Armstrong revisit any of Copeland's themes from the first film?

Maybe Copeland has "retired" from film scoring after the no doubt exhausting revival of The Police (the hardest part being lugging that huge sack full of ca$h around the globe after each show I'm guessing!)

On a more useful note... I'm assuming that Stone was very happy with Armstrong's contribution on "World Trade Center" - so hired him again for another New York-set movie.

According to the man himself, he wasn't asked.

The film is released on September 24th. We'll let you know then.

Dammit. Well it's Stone's loss. Wall Street is one of Copeland's best. For something similar check out his "Tip On A Sure Thing" episode of The Equalizer.

Stone probably figured it wasn't the 80's anymore, and moved on!

This is the correct answer.

Copeland's moved on too, stylistically. Same composer doesn't mean a repeat of the same score!

You think Stone really cares?

Obviously not, he wouldn't had hired Vangelis if he knew that 80s were already over.
