Has anyone heard this score for an animated film Yared scored a few years back? It's simply EPIC. THere's some terrifically beautiful lyrical moments but there's also a raw energy to the action tracks that show the composer's fiery side. Really nice score. Highly recommended. I picked it up off of iTunes as I'm not sure there's a CD out there. If you like Middle Eastern scales balanced with traditional European harmonies, this is a worthwhile listen, and then some!

I "fixed" the choir on this for Gabriel....they were the very exotic Crouch End Festival Chorus !!! Cool. Really terrific score. I would have loved to hear a Yared Twilight entry. They man can write melodies like no other these days but he also can balance that with some terrific bombast when needed. He's still quite underrated IMO while there's a whack o guys that are way overrated.. Ah well, life's not fair.

I unfortunately got the wrong album for this. Mine is covered with French narration end-to-end, and as result, I've never been able to focus on what seems like some nice music underneath.

Discovering this a bit late, but BOY is it gorgeous. Such a tragedy that Yared's brief moment working with the studios came to such an abrupt and bitter end on TROY, he could have been another Desplat, scoring every major Award-bait movie, but I'm so glad he continues to work in France and that most of his scores get CDs there - thank you Amazon.fr
