So they released "The Final Season" which incluced 14 minutes from the last episode as bonus tracks and then another "Final", "Final" CD with the actual Final episodes - and make it limited? It's all very strange...
5000 copies seems reasonable to me. I would have thought the regular soundtracks sold about that quantity too.
Surprised that they plopped a LOST CD into the limited edition pile. The series was a strong seller for the company (How often do you get individual seasons represented on CD?!) so somehow printing 5000 seems to fly in the face of that. Wish Alias got the same attention...
I wonder if DarkDel will be able to snap some up for the signing later this month?
What an awesome thing to wake up too! Thank you Varese! I guess my only gripe is that I guess now we have next to zero chance of ever getting any tracks from Lost Live, the Ubeda Lost concert, or any other live performances. Oh well, I'm certainly not complaining.
Edit: I dont think it will be on iTunes...does Varese ever put limited editions up there?
Bravo Varese. This pretty much completes a near-perfect representation of music from the final season. Every episode is represented, and episodes that beg for a longer treatment get it.
The sample alone for Our Lady of Perpetual Labor brought tears to my eyes. Can not wait to receive this in the mail.
I cant wait to find out what Parting Words (Driveshaft) is. My first thought was a version of Parting Words with famous Lost dialogue over it, but that doesnt fit Driveshaft. My next thought is a rock version of Parting Words...oh brother. Should be interesting.

I can't remember the music off hand that Driveshaft played with Daniel Faraday during the finale. . . . could it have been a slightly disguised version of Parting Words?

oh good idea. I'll have to check it out. I guess this really is it for Lost. The DVD is out, the last LAST soundtrack...the encyclopedia comes out this week. Kind of sad.

I'm thrilled with this new release, but what about some of the notable omissions from previous seasons? I seem to remember hearing that some crucial music from "The Incident" (Season 5), for example, didn't make it to CD...

Well, given that they have information we don't (sales figures on previous "Lost" releases), this would seem to be evidence that they do not sell as well as you assume, at least as physical CDs. (Remember, these limited editions, unlike the Club releases, Varese also releases as iTunes/Amazon downloads.) And since Varese sells these without a middleman (they don't sell any of their limited releases to other retailers at wholesale prices), they'll take in more than if they sold a thousand or two more via Amazon and the rest.

Oh they do indeed release limited editions on iTunes? I was wondering about that. Was Star Trek Deluxe Limited or a Club? I thought it was just a limited, but thats not on iTunes.

For this series, yes. Not for their Club releases. There's a difference.
Basically, this limited series is for scores they don't expect would sell well enough to warrant a physical CD release, and would otherwise go only to iTunes (etc.). But since they know some of their customers demand physical CDs, they press a limited number and sell them directly, without having to give up any profit to a middleman.
This is certainly their biggest such release (have all the others been limited to strictly 1,000 copies?).

I see our posts crossed.
"Star Trek" Deluxe was a Club release. Seems a bit random to consumers like us, but surely there were business reasons for this choice.
