This relates to favourite or preferred alcoholic drinks that people like to drink at social gatherings/parties.

Me personally, I like a shot of Jack Daniels Whiskey. It gets respect from the guys and women are surprised that I don't take anything else with it.

When I'm out, it depends on my mood. Sometimes a glass of scotch. Sometimes gin & tonic.

If I'm in, almost always scotch. I've been slowly -- very slowly, like, a glass every few months -- working my way through a bottle of Glenlivet NĂ durra and a bottle of Glenmorangie Astar. Occasionally I dabble in something like B&B, or indulge in some mezcal. But mostly scotch.

Jameson's Irish Whiskey and 7-Up, Guinness, Carlsberg Export

I drink lot of Great Western beer, though never when i'm out at pubs, just in cans at home.

I almost never drink. Having said that, I do like wine (any red Chilean is a favorite). As for booze drinks, I like Scotch on the rocks, a Manhattan or Rob Roy. Also, Long Island Iced Tea. There was a time when I enjoyed a Sidecar. Can't imagine any bartender even knowing how to make one of those, anymore. Also, a Godfather.

Two years ago, I would say that a new thread can be created every two ish years, so I'm fine.

I don't agree with that, but it's your choice (and no one is going to stop you). Personally, I don't see the point in creating a new thread on favourite drinks when there are already two (and more) on the topic. It's not like we can't add to the old ones if we've gotten new favourites since then!

On the other hand, I can't blame you for not finding the aforementioned threads in the search engine, since they're named somewhat strangely. I'm probably the only one with this kind of encyclopedic topic knowledge.

Wine, single malt scotch, rum... but I'm mostly a beer person. Bass Ale and darker beers are my perference.

Wine - Reds mostly, preferably from California, Chile or Australia. I like my reds to be full bodied and have that tannin kick but hate anything smoky or oaky. If I drink whites it would be a Riesling or something from Zolo because their whites are less harsh.

Beer - IPA mostly although lately I have been expanding into Bocks and Stouts. If I am feeling on the lighter end I tend to go with German pilsners or heffewisens.

Hard Liquor - At home I usually go with bourbon either on the rocks or with club soda. At restaurants I usually go with long island iced tea because I don't tend to like the normal cheap bourbon they have available. I also keep around all other sorts in case I get a hankering for some Gin and lemon seltzer or sipping tequila.

I'm a long time beer enthusiast and home brewer so my preferred drink is generally craft brewed, full flavored beers, ales in particular. I tend to favor beers with high hops profiles like IPAs. A relatively new drinking interest for me is single malt scotch whisky, au natural (straight up). The variety of flavors these premium whiskys possess seem to be just as intriguing as the many varieties of beer I have explored over the years and are very similar in nature to ales in both ingredients and flavor profiles. I used to like wine, but don't anymore and the acid in it kills my stomach, both red and white.

Besides beer at parties, Margaritas do the trick...and usually then some! Cheers!

Straight Rye (Templeton). Water on the side.

Or, if I want to keep my wits about me - Bourbon and Ginger Ale.

Well, if I'm fresh out of bat piss, I usually go for the vino. White only. Red gives me heartburn.

I was raised on "Red" wines (blame it on my Sicilian Nana), so I love it with a passion, along with Wine tastings.

I also love Beer, but the blend depends on my mood. The only beers that I really don't care for are ones that are brewed and/or infused with coriander (e.g. Belgian wheat beers) and/or liquorice (e.g. some Stouts).

My favourite Gunslinger -- a generous shot of Tequila

My favourite Candy Gunslinger -- a Wile E Coyote shot (151 and Butterscotch Schnapps)

Brunch Lovies: Bloody Marys, Screwdrivers, Champagne, and Sangria

Noonish and Nightime mixers: Tequila Sunrise, Long Island Iced Tea, Mai-Tai, Old Fashioned, and Singapore Slings

With Japanese food: Saki and Plum Wine; and Beer: Sapporo, Kirin and/or Asahi

With Mexican food: Tequila and a South-of-the-Border Brew

...I could go on, because I like my Adult beverages, but I do have my favourites and classics.

Always up to try something new, too! (^_^)

With a meal (& maybe after) a glass or three of red wine, some good stuff coming from America these days. Later at night, esp. if it's cold outside. A slug of Jack Daniel's with lots of ice.
