I see that this is due in March. Does anyone know if this has the oveture and intermission music?? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005V1WY/ref%3Dmk%5Fdel%5F264919%5F45/103-5263875-1677463 Hi Paul: I cannot answer your question, directly, about whether, or not, the Overture and Intermezzo are on the disc. Initial scuttlebut is that it is a poor transfer. Too bad, as this film is a little more intellectually challenging (script by Christoper Fry) than your average religiosity epic. I recall that Ennio Morricone did the arrangement of Nascimbene's Overture on the old Citadel and Colpix lps. I do not know whether this was a re-recording. You can find a review of the DVD at <www.digitallyobsessed.com>. Click on the Home Page under (Scenes). In any case, I sent an Email to the reviewer. If (s)he responds, I will post the information to the board. The soundtrack is in stereo, but apparently the equalization has clipped the upper and lower ends, as well as there being a layer change that interrupts one music cue. (That was fast! I did hear back from Digitally Obsessed and neither the Overture or Intermezzo appear on the DVD. Thanks to Mark Zimmer for responding so quickly. "Zimmer", now where have I heard that name?) b.

A la Peter Hunt with 1776's "Piddle, twiddle," Richard Fleischer's demanded that BARABBAS's solar eclipse be shortened because modern audiences would be confused by anything too quiet or dark...

Although the DVD contains stereo effects and directional dialogue, the music seems to be mono, as was the soundtrack LP and CD reissue. Was the music ever recorded in stereo?
