False narrative. We're not talking about that. We're talking about the complete score to "Signs".

Yes, and while I do love the score on album, I don't think an expanded release should be at the top of anyone's To Do list, unless there's a label out there who wants listeners to fall asleep before "The Hand Of Fate" cues. Hell, some of us can barely make it to those cues as it is. Whittlers, gather!

There are multiple labels with To Do lists that have titles in various states of work (from contract to approvals of the final product); there is no occupied point or no further room.

I pity people who can't make it through such music.

Yeah, and those labels have plenty of music to go through before they get to Signs. We haven't even gotten a fourth release of Remo Williams yet!

There is for sure one pretty noticeable cue I wanted that was left off the CD. I believe it was when the sheriff was leaving the farm for the first time. For that alone I'd purchase an expansion... And I'd purchase expansions for all of the other James Newton Howard/M. Night Shyamalan collaborations.

Technically… if you count the TV pilot score, there are actually four Remo… oh, never mind.

I would love expanded JNH scores as well. Any of them.

I'd also purchase an expansion for that cue only, it's brilliant.

Point me there! I'm not sure the cue you're talking about. The one I'm thinking about is material covered elsewhere in the score.

The last shot of Caroline from her first visit to the farm is when she's pulling the barbecue fork out of Houdini, and that's accompanied by a short cue as we transition into the "monster outside my room" scene.

Then there's the scene from her second visit, in which she's taking the report of the roof intruder. As she's about to leave she suggests to Graham that he take his family into town to get their minds off things. The music here is a much longer cue, and it actually begins with the TV report on the crop circles in India and ends when the family splits up once they get into town.

I don't know if either cue is on the CD, though.

Yes, this is the scene, unfortunately the cue it's not on CD.

There is another scene when they are eating pizza and see Ray (M. Night Shyamalan) and Morgan ask "Is that him?". This cue is also missing from CD.

Dunno why I dug this one out again, but man, what a phenomenal score it is.
So hard hitting and powerful when it wants to be, but generally just chipping away at your psyche, with that insistent little 3 note repeating rhythm.
JNH was really taking that Goldsmith vibe during the 90s/early 00s and amping it up and modernising it to suit his own needs.
For me personally, he was writing music I expected to hear FROM Goldsmith himself during this time (who had moved onto that cleaner, more programmed style in the main).
JNH really was ON FIRE during those 10-15 years (1989-2004).

What a Main Title!!!

And who can forget the incredible Hand Of Fate Part 1 & 2, underscoring the finale of the film.
It makes the ridiculous sound sublime wink

Gives me goosebumps!

I agree this is an absolutely fantastic score, but I hear a ton of Bernard Herrmann in it, not much Goldsmith...

It's those snarling, growling brass and horns that recall JG to me and those angry punctuations.
Also, in the track Recruiting Office I always get a strong JG vibe too.
