Original Television Soundtrack

FRINGE

Season 2

Music Composed by
Chris Tilton

Return to explore the boundaries of a mysterious mythology that holds millions of viewers in its hypnotic grasp. Season 2 of FRINGE contains worlds (and alternate worlds) of excitement complete with shape shifters, cryonic heads, belly-dwelling beasts and people who turn to ashes before our eyes. But the overarching narrative takes three clandestine FBI agents — Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop and Walter Bishop — through a mind-bending investigation of a parallel reality that threatens to destroy ours. The impossible is here in a series that offers “the most satisfying, coherent story arc of any science fiction-flavored primetime drama” (Mike Hale, The New York Times).

Composer Chris Tilton returns from Season 1 and delivers a mysterious, poignant and beautiful score.

Season 2 of FRINGE is available on Warner Home Video DVD and BluRay. Season 3 of FRINGE is currently airing on Fox.

Excellent! The music for the series just seems to keep getting better and better, perhaps due to one person taking the reins, Chris Tilton, who has been fantastic!

W00t! Glad to here this is coming. Kudos to Varese - this is definitely one of those lesser-known projects, but I really appreciate them getting great music out to us fans.

Excellent news. Chris Tilton just tweeted it himself on Twitter.

Meaning no disrespect to Michael Giacchino or anyone else who worked on the music, but the emotional impact of the show improved significantly once Tilton took over primary scoring duties. Coincidence or not... just sayin'.

Chris really wrote some amazing music for that whole arc starting from "Peter" all the way to the season finale.

I hope the piece from the end of A New Day In The Old Town is included.

It's too bad Season 3 isn't included because, hard to believe, but the music got even better this season.

Now, if we can only get a fourth (and fifth) season out of the series...

I find it very disconcerting that Fringe: The Complete Third Season is now available for pre order on Amazon.com. Now I realize that networks sometimes like to release partial seasons on disc halfway through the season (Glee, Flashforward), but the fact that Amazon says "COMPLETE" third season is suspicious. Especially considering, they didnt even announce Season 1 and 2 until June the last few years. Has Fox given up despite their insistance that Fridays will be "reanimated"? frown

Season 3 has been available for preorder for a few months now. A lot of series are doing this now; the complete seasons are foregone conclusions so Amazon puts them up for presale early in the run to ensure buyer loyalty, I'd assume. I remember 24: Season 8 being available for presale before the season even began.

I've never seen Fringe, though I am a pretty big fan of JJ Abrahms and such, can someone tell me what it is about?

Thanks

It's about fringe science investigations done by a special FBI group joined by a lovable mad genius scientist played wonderfully by John Noble and his estranged son played by Joshua Jackson whose past is somewhat shady. A parallel universe is involved in the story arc when it's not a stand alone story episode. It's a handsomely produced and fascinating X-Files-ish sci-fi series with the usual Abrams/Kurtzman/Orci touches.

Definitely check out Fringe any way you can (buying the season sets, streaming, Netflix, what have you). Now that Lost and 24 are gone, it's one of the only shows I watch religiously anymore. frown
