DAVE score was expanded early this year... There are other threads about it.

I searched and searched for them but must not have used just the right words to bring them up. I assume the expanded CD sold out?

It has not sold out:

Received the expanded "Dave" today -- thanks, La-La-Land Records! It sounds great and so much additional material! I added it about a third of the way down on my James Newton Howard iPod playlist, along with this final scene from the movie:

Such a delightful movie, with a perfect James Newton Howard soundtrack.

SW: As for "Is anyone else having this problem with the expanded release? At the end of track 19, 'Bedrooms/Bob Drops Bomb/Keep Moving', the sound drops out for a-quarter-of-a-second before segueing into track 20," I had no problem with it, although I did notice that the music ends 2 full seconds (not just a quarter of a second) before that cue ends, which could explain your gap, but I see that all the time on CDs, with it only a problem if one track is supposed to go without pause to the next one. I have my iTunes set to have zero gaps between tracks, but, again, if there's a couple of seconds of silence on the END of a track, that will result in more than just a quarter of a second of silence.

Playing this today. What a perfectly lovely score from start to finish. I was spinning the OST. I have the expanded edition but haven't opened it yet. Any thoughts on the expansion? It reminds me a lot of While You Were Sleeping, another favorite romantic score in my collection.

I programmed in the album cues to replace the complete score versions in places, but I love the score and wanted every note in some form.

$7 is a steal for one of the best romantic comedy scores of the 90's. Deft and charming, with a lovely main theme.

GET ON THAT SHIT Y'ALL

Totally agree. Fantastic score and at $7 dollars a steal. There's no reason not to pick this up if you love thematic scoring.

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but it is another solid offering from JNH. Well worth adding to your library if you are a fan of his scores.

for my money, the best romantic-comedy album score ever

full of charm, completely melodic and with various themes, even with some action and mysterious moments

JNH was unbeatable in the 90s

I just snagged a copy of this and noticed the problem as well, but it sounds like the first part of track 20 is right at the tail end of 19. Maybe a sequencing issue?

A wonderful score that served the film perfectly. I particularly like the cue...er don't remember the title, but it's when Dave does his first appearance as the President and does the "God bless America" bit. The music is lively and memorable in that sequence.

Yeah, a great score, from the year of our Shaun.
I haven't played the LLL expanded edition as much as I should (maybe).
I picked it up in one of their sales, in the long ago, but was always happy with the Big Screen edition and don't think I changed it up.
I saw the film in Orlando in 1993, while on holiday there.

Oh, you KNOW I love this. Just a gorgeous score, bursting with melody. I probably said the same thing earlier in this thread years ago.
