The main theme is ofcourse pure class. One of the better gangster tunes, right up there with Rota's Godfather theme.

And "Tema Per La Goff" is definitive 60s chase music big grin

The main theme from "The Sicilian Clan" is similar to Legrand's "The Windmills of Your Mind," in that both tunes have several occurrences of the melody anticipating the following chord and not the chord that they land on.

While this device is used either purposely or accidentally from time to time in tunes, it is a fairly consistent feature of both of these tunes.

Another slightly quirky alternate version.

I just have to post the 'real' main titles music again, I love it:

Alessandroni in optima forma!

I've said it before and I'll say it again; let's hope this superb score finally makes its way onto
CD in expanded/complete form. I don't know if the mastertapes still exist though.

Hey Mikael, thats different to the LP version isnt it, a lot more raw with the whistle and more prominent percussion and the electric guitar sound is different too. I love it. Alessandroni on the jewish harp no doubt as we know he had a whole range of these for different sounds.

Yes, it's a different version that for some reason didn't make it to the LP. The version that comes closest on the LP is "Dialogo No.1" I think, but it's still quite different.
For example, the whistled line (which plays around the 4 letters of the name of Bach: the B-A-C-H motive) is much longer in this film version and the end part where the mandoloncello plays against the harpsichord melody/arpeggios does not appear as such in any of the LP tracks.

Interesting, mate. Definite expanded needed, as the others have said, even if film tracks and Album tracks.

Anyone in the know why this one has not yet been expanded or let alone re-released in all these years?

It's a pity (to avoid the word shame)... frown

It was remastered for the Morricone box if I'm not mistaken, and that version is available seperately as a download.

In addition to the CAM and Universal issues

two unreleased tracks have been released on compilations in recent years: Ennio Morricone - Morricone Segreto (2020) and Ennio Morricone : Musiques De Films 1964-2015 (2022)

I have no idea how much music is still missing, maybe not so much and likely only alternates if there is anything at all. I also have no idea why they don't update the digital releases with the missing tracks and more, perhaps they want people to buy the compilations?
