Hi guys, I know I'm late to the party on this although I have found out some info on it. Apparently, the masters were lost but I've heard that's not true and some label will be releasing this score soon? Does anybody have any info on this score or possible release or not???

Thank You

Pats Radio

I don't know about an official release, but I have an "unofficial" one featuring the score and the songs from the film.

Wanted to just bump this thread again as LESS THAN ZERO is my favourite Thomas Newman score. Any further info on an official release like the original poster mentioned?

God, I hope so, this is one of his best works, and likely since it's a
Fox title - maybe they can pair it with MY fave 80's Newman, THE
MAN WITH ONE RED SHOE!!!

I'm now hearing the Masters were NOT lost but no new news on a possible release. Fingers crossed. This is a brilliant score which needs a full release.

Once again a bump for this thread. Wasn't there a rumour of a possibility soon of this finally appearing? Might just be wishful thinking! My personal all time favourite Thomas Newman score. Where's the love, labels?!

Bumping this thread to celebrate the amazing news that LaLaLand is bringing out this wonderful score in September.
Rush out and buy it when it comes. :-)

I'll be waiting outside Tower Records for it to open!

Seriously, very excited for this one.

Great news! I'm not the biggest Thomas Newman fan but this is one of his best scores. A strongly emotive synth score that really works in the film, at times reminding me a bit of 1980s Ennio Morricone.

Another vote for this. Tom Newman's been quite prolific the last few years, but also has a mammoth, high-quality (and largely unreleased) back catalog that just hasn't gotten much love from the labels. With La-La Land doing an expanded Shawshank, and now Less Than Zero, perhaps we can expect much more from them. Hopefully, there are buyers out there to reward the effort.

I have been thinking about Newman's achievements, and I am very fond of this score. It may not contain his most personal and best music, but as a whole, it is still one of my favorites.

Does anyone here know what Newman himself thinks of this score? Is he fond of his work on this?

Can't find the thread when I expounded upon my surprise at being sucked into this score after a late nate viewing, but this more recent thread is worth "listening" to--

No, but it would be interesting to hear. It's my second-favourite TN score of all time.

Don't know what Newman's thoughts are about the score but apparently it's one of the few things Bret Easton Ellis loves about this adaptation of his novel.
