That's fine. To each their own. Personally, I love to get in touch with ALL aspects of my emotional life, not only conventional films with happy endings. I also like to challenge these emotional aspects and your whole moral orientation with regular intervals. That's the kind of experience that makes you grow as a humanbeing; i.e. not shielding" oneself from certain elements of life. Besides, it's just film.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Thor. A healthy portion of my favorite films
are thrillers and horror films. Some are considered pretty nasty and
controversial at that. I'm one of the few people that I know of
who likes Lucio Fulci's THE NEW YORK RIPPER. I didn't find it as gastly
as some critics have made it out to be. I also like most of Dario
Argento's giallos and horror outings. I'm a defender of Brian De Palma
and everything Hitchcockian - power drills and all. But that's about as
far as I go with this stuff. When it gets into the area of rape and torture, no.
I champion BODY DOUBLE, but I spit on CASUALTIES OF WAR. smile

You seem to be more into the "fantasy"-type horror etc. I like that too, but the really effective stomach-turners, to me, are those films that are very realistic in execution. Stuff like Haneke's FUNNY GAMES.

Resurrecting this thread after recently re-viewing the I Spit on Your Grave remake. Pretty effective and harrowing music by Corey Allen Jackson, and am surprised more attention wasn't garnered by it. I loved the new film, one of the best I've seen in the horror, and certainly revenge genre, in quite a while. Sarah Butler is awesome!

Is anyone aware that I Spit on Your Grave 2 is coming out soon? I haven't seen any details as to the composer though.

Seriously? Talk about your cynical cash-grabs.
