I've noticed that the original soundtrack album, is out of print and demands very "shiny" pennies on Amazon and eBay. Not due to Trevor Jones' electrifying score, but for 2 very rare songs by The Pretenders.
Is there any possible prospect of La-La Land, Intrada, Varese, or Perseverance re releasing it with an expanded score? Perhaps a deluxe edition that includes the popular hard to find songs, with 30 min of additional score?

This seemed like a perfect candidate for an expanded score. Shocked this hasn't happened yet.

This is probably one of the worst scores I have ever heard. A low point in Jones' career, in my opinion.

I've heard extra material. Tried to cull any "good" bits from it to make a suite that would hopefulyl be listenable, but in the end I ended up with something like a minute and a half od "okay" material that made a suite I listened to three times since it's creation, and have achived away to probably never be heard again.

I think it's a fun energetic electronic score with catchy themes. One of the best of it's kind. I'll take it any day over all the themeless drones over the last decade.

If this is one of the worst scores you've heard, I suggest listening to more scores. This one is a blast.

Indeed. It's a great score. Love the riffs on Zimmer's power anthem style in several tracks. Not particularly interested in an expansion, but a reissue should be out there.

The current album leaves off the best piece of music in the whole score (IMO), which is the cue that plays during the scene where the SEALs are getting ready to rescue Viggo Mortensen's character in the Libyan desert. What makes this omission so bizarre is that in a score that was clearly temped with Media Ventures music, it's the cue that sounds the most like Trevor Jones

There's only 20 minutes of score on the album. If this doesn't merit an expansion what does?

OK, then, a slight expansion.

I'd still like to see a proper presentation of the score, It doesn't need to be complete. 30-40 min is fine.
Despite the 90s Media Venture adaption, it is still distinctively Trevor Jones' sound through out the score. If Trevor Rabin had composed this music then I'm sure that people would point out how much it sounds like Trevor Jones! All of Jones' accents and nuances are in the score, even the main theme is a variation on Last of the Mohicans.

Based on his posting history, I'd say he's listened to loads of 'em (good and bad). Just call it difference of opinion and let it go.

When I was at Amoeba Records two years ago (my first and so far only visit there) I bought a lot of soundtracks. However I could not buy each and every soundtrack I was interested in so therefore I had to leave a few soundtracks that I wanted to buy. One of those I did not buy there was G.I. Jane. So if any label is thinking of doing an expansion of that soundtrack then it makes me glad that I did not buy it.
