I was supposed to host a garden party later today, just as last year, but the weather forecast is grim so I had to cancel. Which is strange, because right now it's sunny and fine. Oh well. I was up before 8 this morning, biking down to the city centre, where the procession took place. I was going in the procession together with the school where I work. Our school is 20 years old this year, so we were leading the procession (almost). If you have 2 minutes and 46 seconds to spare and are curious about this (yeah, yeah, I doubt it), you can watch this video made by an American traveller: May 17th is huge in Norway, and our parades are a bit different than those you see on July 4th in the US, for example. We celebrate by eating octopus, babbling the Galician language and drinking too much. Normal day then. Gosh, it's sunny in Norway, isn't it?
