The international trailer for Steven Spielberg's WAR HORSE has hit the web, featuring the music of John Williams:

Looks like it ain't AU HASARD BALTHAZAR, if that's the music. Hopefully it can play in the same tier as THE HORSE WHISPERER or SEABISCUIT at least. (Anything but DREAMER!)

Yes indeed, I agree with Mike.

Really looking forward to this.

Thanks for posting.

With this and TIN TIN coming out, it's going to be a great John Williams Christmas!

How do you know that this is the John Williams' music?

(although it does sound like Williams)

The music sounds fine, but by God....I dread the movie! I hate animal-driven films that aren't animation, and this looks exactly like the thing I would avoid under normal circumstances. I'll force my way through it since it's Spielberg.

If it is not, it is the best imitation of his music ever.

melody, orchestration, harmony, form,
the string counterpoint,
the colours of the resonating performance.
I don't believe there is a guy on this planet who could write music which is so Williamseque
I think this is his unique voice

Zooba is right, this christmas is going to be really special!!! smile

Maybe Mike Verta. He's the best Williams pastiche composer I've heard.

But yeah, I'm fairly confident this is Williams' music. Sounds very much like him, and very much like him ANNO 2011. That slow-moving melodic line, for example. Sounds like THE PATRIOT, but less patriotic.

I just made it my ringtone.

Hope it's Williams.

Gorgeous stuff. The film looks really good and the music seems already an instant classic. Hearing 2 minutes of new Williams' music after a long time seems like drinking a glass of pure fresh water after a long drought.

It sounds like Williams indeed! And absolutely gorgeous. As Maurizio said it is like a lovely drink of cold water after a long drought.

That final quote of music reminds me of his style in THE RIVER score.

This is awesome Classic John Williams all the way.

Can't wait.

Me too. It's addicting.

And all that great Classic Spielberg cinematography and imagery with the beautiful music is superb.

Good to finally hear some Real Movie Music again!

I only listened to it once and won't do it again until there's a version with higher quality. The low bitrate via earphones was too distracting...

Ahh... goosebumps-inducing Americana! smile

Is this really Americana? In any case, I was hoping more for "Britiana"!

Is this really Americana?

Hmm, strictly speaking, maybe not. I'm not sure what the definition of "Americana" is. Maybe it was the combination of music and images that made me think "Americana".

Whoa wasn't aware of this movie. The music sounds lovely, if it isn't Williams it's the best mimic of his style that I've ever heard.

Thanks for pointing too it! I think I'll have a few more listens.
