No Overture = No Sale with me. I refuse to buy compromised end products caused by total stupidity on the part of those who should know better when putting things together. Since I watch the film only once a year, the regular DVD inside my Blu-Ray more than suffices.
......Watching it now. Looks incredible!!! Bricusse your a musical genius!......
Though the FSM site is a haven for the adoration of film scores and their composers by filmmusic fanboys , surely you can't attribute "the look" of SCROOGE to Leslie Bricusse!!!
For the record, "the look" of SCROOGE is the fine work of longtime creative artists.....
Oswald Morris, Director of Photography Terence Marsh, Production Designer Robert Cartwright, Art Director and Margaret Furse, Costume Designer

(.....and the music's good, too! )
That's why I put Bricusse your a musical genius, I was of course referring to him in the musical sense, hense the words musical genius!
Umm too bad about the overture missing but... the Blu Ray is great... it looks and sounds excellent. Anyone on the fence about this release shouldn't hesitate...it is well worth picking up.
I saw the film in the theater ... to be honest I can't remember the overture, it was too long ago. It was a nice addition to the DVD but...it isn't a deal breaker.
Just watched the blu-ray over the weekend. And I haven't seen Scrooge in years, so I was very satisfied with the image and, being the audio is critical for a musical of course, I felt that it sounds very good. A unique and enjoyable telling of the Dickens' classic.
Has there ever been a BluRay version of this that includes the wondrous Overture? My Laser Disc and player are showing pending terminal age. Will miss them. Sad, getting old....?
