Am I the only one to love the score for John Frankenheimers "The Holcroft Covenant", with Michael Caine and Lily Palmer. Exciting thriller from a Robert (Bourne) Ludlum novel. The film has a particularly good main title. Very catchy. I have never seen or heard of a score CD. Does anyone know of it or any plans for release. The DVD is released by MGM. Oh, and the composer is Stanislas (Syrewicz)

I enjoyed the music too.

Me too. It's a great score. As far as I can tell, there was never even an LP release! As much as I love Lalo Schifrin, I'd gladly trade his Ludlum soundtrack, The Osterman Weekend (available on CD), for this one. I hope someone releases it one day.

Well, seven years since the first post about this rather unusual 1985 score but here we go again...

Just came across this, well, not-quite-masterpiece of a Nazi thriller movie: cheesy, incredibly dated and flawed on many levels. But I'd like to talk about the score, performed completely on synths mimicking a regular orchestra. Did they have no money for a real orchestra or why did "Stanislas" as he's credited in the movie choose to do it like this? And who is this "Stanislas" anyway? Never heard of him, before or since. No soundtrack was ever issued AFAIK.

...But wouldn't that be something, just using your first name as a composer?

STAR WARS, music by John

POLTERGEIST, music by Jerry

THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, original music by Lalo

Except for (Frank) DeVol I don't know any composer who did this (I never understood why you would).
