I decided on my actual order:

Dark of the Sun
Whose Life is it Anyway?
Prophecy
Where Eagles Dare/Operation Crossbow
Testament
...and of course the Raksin box!

Other than Where Eagles Dare, this is all music I've never heard before. Good times lie ahead.

I just picked up:

Where Eagles Dare/Operation Crossbow (Ron Goodwin)
The Satan Bug (Jerry Goldsmith)
The Time Machine (Russell Garcia)
On Dangerous Ground (Bernard Herrmann)
Heavy Metal: The Score (Elmer Bernstein)
The Illustrated Man (Jerry Goldsmith)

And of course the Raksin set.

Thank you Lukas!

I just wanted to thank Screen Archives for their excellent customer service. I placed an order for a bunch of back catalog FSM titles, just a little before Lukas made this generous announcement. I figured, oh well its too late to get a freebie now. No big wup really, since I was already considering ordering more titles next month. However, SAE threw a free Raksin set into my package anyway big grin . A huge thank you to Lukas and SAE for treating us so kindly! big grin

My latest order arrived today with the free Raksin collection promotion. I am playing it right now and enjoying cd 1 "Across the Wide Missouri". Thank you Lukas-FSM-SAE for this latest gesture of your generosity by offering this going away present to the film music community.

I just managed to get the money together in time for this (a cause not helped by recent Kritzer/La La Land releases) Since Lukas started doing his stock rundowns, I've been trying to prioritise the FSMs I want that are running low. I'm glad none that I want on today's update are too far down yet!

Anyway, to get my $100, I got:

Lust For Life
Checkmate / Rhythm In Motion
The Swimmer
The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing
Poltergeist

This doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of my FSM wish list (heck, it's not even anywhere near the surface) but it's a start!

I know the feeling I put every FSM title I don't own in my shopping cart the other day, I own lots of them including most of the big box sets. It added up to a "mere" $2200 to finish collecting them all. (The total does not incluse the costs of acquire Knight Rider and Omega Man 1.0, which I missed.) I have since ordered Where Eagles Dare and Checkmate, so the total is slightly less.

My order turned up today

John Barry: Born Free
Ennio Morricone: Guns For San Sebastion
Ennio Morricone: Navajo Joe
Morton Stevens: Hawaii Five-O
John Williams: The Accidental Tourist
John Williams: Black Sunday

and of course...

David Raksin: David Raksin at M.G.M.

Many house of great listening ahead.

Usual great service from SAE and many thanks to Lukas for such a great offer.

Wish I had the spare $2200 sitting around the house, I will be buying a big hunk of those over the next few months though.
