My kid is a huge fan of the show. I don't think it's being made any more. But when he pops in the discs, the scores always catch my ear. In fact, the episodes I've sat though were pretty damn good from every point of view. I'm wondering if any of Venable's SJ stuff has ever been available.

(I'm particularly impressed with the sound design in general. Instead of a constant bombardment of sound and music, the creators let occasional silences propel the stories along. It's very effective and a refreshing change.)

Comments?

Absolutely brilliant stuff and I agree with you 100%. I got into the show a good while back and loved the whole style of it. Very effective animation with some great musical moments . I think there was a short promo released but nothing substantial.

I wouldn't mind checking this out someday; do count me in as a buyer if some of its score ever gets released. This was always advertised whenever I would watch Powerpuff Girls on TV or VHS a decade ago, and that series had a score album released. Curious as to why Samurai Jack didn't get the same treatment.

I wonder if a Samurai Jack CD (or box set) is something La-La Land might ever want to look into?

A few years ago I asked, or somebody asked, and they said the rights owners were not interested. :-(

To bad the Samurai Jack movie didn't get a score release. There was a lot of great stuff in the first 20 minutes. In fact a good portion of that time was score without dialog.
