The score seems to be lost or over recorded ,so we see never a complete score on cd unfortunately.
what i hope is a rerecording.
I am sorry, but to re-record this would ruin the great Brian May orchestra sound, since he also conducted it!

No I think it's a great score too. A lot of of scores from the 80s are overrated, but not this one. I'd love to see it rerecorded (but only by a good orchestra).

Agreed. He was a real treasure to film music. Even though I love the Jerry Goldsmith scores for Psycho II and Link, I've often wondered what those films would have sounded like with Brian May scores.
Richard Franlin was particularly adept at wringing the very best out of him as is clearly demonstrated in Road Games and Patrick.

Richard Franlin was particularly adept at wringing the very best out of him as is clearly demonstrated in Road Games and Patrick.
I too love the work Richard Franklin and Jerry Goldsmith did together. The Psycho II theme for Norman is just beautiful (I have discussed this before... plus our moderator is a huge Psycho II fan)...
When Intrada put out CLOAK AND DAGGER it was a dream come true. Another Richard Franlin/Brian May collaboration had seen the light of day. Funny you mention ROAD GAMES and PATRICK... I have owned both films for years now, but before getting them, I used to stay up late at night to watch them and hear Brian May's music. Of course, I own the scores as well.
When Psycho II was announced, and Richard Franklin's name was attached to the project I remember thinking it was a sure thing Brian May would score it. Though he did not, I would almost imagine he would have given the film the same treatment as he did with his brilliant HARLEQUIN (also known as DARK FORCES)... Of course, we will never know.
Like we have said, he was taken away far too young. Just like Basil... Michael Kamen... and many more.
Brian May's work with George Miller was and still is trend-setting. I can imagine no one else topping the scores for the first two pictures. The score for the third film (Maurice Jarre)was quite good, but not in the same universe as the first two.
Nope, I will never part with his music for any reason. And, I hope more of his work will come out in the future.
