How has no one mentioned this? I couldn't find any previous thread on it. I just saw this before going Black Friday shopping, and even though I'm disappointed Giacchino ended up not scoring this, HGW did a great job. The music was part spyish (when the elves did their part of delivering gifts without being noticed), and the theme for Arthur and his inextinguishable Christmas spirit was very nice. Has anyone heard word od a CD release? Oh, and Aardman did a great job on the film as well. Very funny, gut also interesting showing how each member of the Clause family was struggling with different issues.
Just got finished listening to this and overall really enjoyed it. It's a welcome return to the more orchestral Harry Gregson-Williams. Special mention should go to the track "Dash Away." It's the definite highlight of the album, with a very fun and spirited rendition of the main theme. Definitely worth adding to your Christmas movie score playlist...

I quite enjoyed it as well. The best part is, it doesn't use much existing Christmas music so it has a nice holiday feel to it without getting those "favorites" stuck in my head.
I don't suppose there are any sound clips available any place? I have a feeling I would like this score, but I wasn't planning on actually seeing the movie . . . .
Ordered tonight from Play.com whilst watching the film. A brilliant film with a stellar cast of voices, a cracking feel good story to get in the festive spirit and a terrific score!

I agree. The film was top-notch, and I recently got the CD - it's a very, very nice work by Gregson-Williams. I love it when he does orchestral melodies - this and Sinbad are two of his best works I've heard.
I also agree that ARTHUR CHRISTMAS was a most enjoyable score. The film was good, too.
Keep your eyes peeled for the "For Your Consideration" CD - it has the whole score. It was one of the few times that I was outbid on eBay. If anyone here wants to sell theirs, I'm available.
