Allow me to resurrect the dead (thread), and put my 2 cents in for a complete/expanded/remastered release, with the 97 audio issues fixed, and the film version of "Take my hand".

The Sleeper Must Awaken. wink

Wow. It's Dune-a-palooza around here!

Why is this a Dune-centric time of year? It's Doctor Who day for one thing...

(Still all in favor of an expanded Dune.)

How incomplete is the existing limited edition release? That's getting hard to find... I can see it being repressed out of scarcity rather than out of the need for expansion. The existing release has always seemed fairly complete to me.

A complete Dune is on my grail list. There's a full half hour of unreleased material. Some really good stuff too. Although the remaining stuff in the film sounds edited, so it's likely that even more material exists.

The big plus in getting a furthur expanded edition would be to hear the Film Version of the End Credits. It has an orchestral overlay that's absent from the album version. The strings and brass used are divine to my ears.

With a really awkward edit in the middle.

Again, for me, it´s that time of the year... when I watch DUNE, indulge in nostalgia and think: is there any chance one of our favorite labels is working on a remastered, expanded score release?

Resurrecting this thread got me to listen to the original album. I still enjoy this version so much I never pull out the expansion, though I don't know how much the warbling has to do with that. I just think it's a great fun album - I remember making a cassette pairing this with Queen's Flash Gordon album. Two rare cases when I even kinda dig the dialogue bits.

Not holding my breath. Too many licensors involved.

every time I try to watch Dune again I come around to; both- pretty good in parts, and it's downright terrible
