THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2
CODE NAME GERONIMO---movie underway about the Navy SEAL mission to kill Osama bin Laden. Cam Gigandet (TWILIGHT), William Fichtner (BLACK HAWK DOWN), Anson Mount (HELL ON WHEELS and son of PLAYBOY sports/contributing editor Anson Mount) and Robert Knepper (PRISON BREAK) star.
NOAH---director Darren Aronofsky (BLACK SWAN) wants Russell Crowe for the starring role in this movie about Noah's Ark, and he wants Liam Neeson for a co-starring role. Crowe is also reportedly the lead candidate to star in the remake of ROBOCOP.
WINTER'S TALE---Will Smith and Russell Crowe will star in this movie based on the novel in which "Peter Lake, a turn-of-the-century Irish burglar, and Beverly Penn, a young heiress whom he encounters in robbing her house, and who eventually will die young and in his arms. His love for her, and a gift of grace, will allow him after the most extraordinary and painful explorations and discoveries to stop time and bring back the dead." Akiva Goldsman (A BEAUTIFUL MIND, I AM LEGEND, THE DA VINCI CODE) is the writer/director.
YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD---the HARRY POTTER duo of Emma Watson and director David Yates may reunite for this movie based on the true story of a suicidal young woman whose live is saved by an older man suffering from terminal cancer. Tom Hanks and George Clooney are rumored to be candidates for the lead male role.
STAND UP GUYS---Al Pacino, Alan Arkin and Christopher Walken will star in this movie about two elderly hitmen who are hired to kill their friend.
THE SWITCH---movie underway based on Elmore Leonard's novel and is a prequel to Quentin Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN. The plot is set 15 years before JACKIE BROWN and involves Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie kidnapping the wife of a corrupt Detroit real estate tycoon. After her husband refuses to pay the ransom, she joins with her kidnappers to get revenge on her husband. John Hawkes (DEADWOOD) stars. Tarantino is not involved with the prequel but has approved it.
MOTOR CITY---Gary Oldman will co-star as a mobster in this movie about an ex-con who seeks revenge on those who framed him. Dominic Cooper and Amber Heard star.
FOX---untitled series pilot underway starring Kevin Bacon in which an FBI agent pursues an escaped serial killer he sent to prison only to discover he has created a cult of serial killers.
RED MACHINE---Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Jane, Piper Perabo and James Marsden star in this movie about two estranged brothers and their girlfriends on a camping trip in the Alaskan wilderness when they are stalked by a killer grizzly bear named Red Machine.
PAIN AND GAIN---THE ROCK team of Ed Harris and director Michael Bay may reunite for this movie about incompetent Miami bodybuilders whose plan to kidnap and murder a wealthy Miami businessman goes awry. Dwayne Johnson stars.
SHOWTIME---has renewed HOUSE OF LIES, SHAMELESS and CALIFORNICATION.
THE DOUBLE---Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska star in this movie based on the novella about a file clerk whose life crumbles after his duplicate takes over his life.
THE DEVIL'S KNOT---Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth star in this movie based on the true story of three men who were released from prison after being unjustly convicted of killing three young boys in 1993.
42---Christopher Meloni (LAW & ORDER: SVU) may co-star as Brooklyn Dodgers manager Leo Durocher in this Jackie Robinson biomovie. Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford star.
EVERLY---Kate Hudson stars in this movie about the ex-girlfriend of a mobster who is in an apartment under siege by hitmen seeking to killer the mobster.
ABC PILOTS---six pilots are underway. MALIBU COUNTRY---Reba McEntire stars as a divorcee who moves her family from Nashville to Malibu. PRAIRIE DOGS---a nerd's identity is stolen by a cool guy. GOTHAM---a female cop discovers an unseen fantasy world in New York. ZERO HOUR---editor of a skeptics magazine becomes involved in one of the greatest conspiracies in history. PENOZA---a murdered mobster's widow takes his place to protect her family. DEVIOUS MAIDS---four Hispanic maids work in glamorous Beverly Hills.

I tried to read this book years ago, but threw it away when I got to a part where it featured underage girls (like 12 and 10 If I remember correctly) having sex with each other than inviting a young boy to join them. So I'll pass on the movie.

I'm not sure which I find more disturbing...Hollywood making a movie from a book that has pedophilia featured as a plot item, or ANYONE giving Tarantino credeance for pretty much anything or, heck, even caring about anything the guy says or thinks about a project he has nothing to do with.
