What an imaginitive tale! If only the typical FSMer had such humor.*

*They don't. frown

Speaking of Scotch, no one ever played a drunk better than Peter Graves. However, I believe Bourbon was his poison.

When did he play a drunk? I can't imagine him breaking from his poker face.

Actually, he may be drinking bourbon. We are several feet away when we pass his house and wave, so it is hard to tell definitively.

On M:I, he was only playing at being drunk. S6's s "Blind" has Our Man Graves providing an acting tutorial on how it's done.

It's a good episode and it's in the "Syndicate Years", which the latter-season era of M:I I've always preferred over the earlier, better-known seasons, when Landau and Bain were on the show.

"Don't push me, blind man!"

Can't imagine anyone getting away with that line on TV these days.

Treated myself this morning to a double-shot of Mission: Impossible (season six) and Graves wears the same brown "action jacket" his character would wear in Scream of the Wolf.

You mean the casual brown sport jacket that he first wears during season 5 during the tape scene.
Willy has his light brown one too.

I'll be damned if Mike Connors isn't wearing the same brown jacket in S6 of Mannix.

ABC had in their prop department a black quilt, with multi-colored flowers, that appeared in numerous shows over a 30-year period. So anything is possible.

The Saurian brandy decanter appears alongside Leonard "Spock" Nimoy in a M:I episode.

You asked about leisure suits: Mike Connors wears a beige one with white loafers AND fights goons underwater while wearing it.

What more could you possibly want from a TV show?

The leisure suit episode has a score by Duane Tatro!

The '70s are a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Indeed, he wears one: see below.

From BUSTING
—Police Clerk: “Why did you leave?”
—Detective Keneely: “I don’t know.”
—Police Clerk: “I’m sorry, can you be more specific?”
—Detective Keneely: “Yeah, hum, more specific, hum. Ohhhh, I needed a change, you know.”

KILLDOZER is coming out on blu-ray. There was a poor-looking made-on-demand dvd release in 2012. You got yer Clint Walker and Gil Melle soundtrack.

I love those schlocky seventies comic book covers. Why doesn't DC and Marvel do covers like that anymore?

They went out of style like Phelps plaid jacket. Good luck trying to convince him of that, though.

Thanks for the heads up.

Schlocky? I always took those covers and stories at face value!

Gil Kane cover art--I'll have to look up who inked it.

Edit: Ernie Chan; he doesn't do much for Gil's usually-distinctive art.

Hey, that plaid jacket is timeless! "Impervious to fashion; new trends just bounce off it"!

The fellow on the left felt the same way, but his impervious outer wear is no longer de rigueur.

"But a knight... in armor? Make me believe that, Carl, because if I find you're shooting me through the grease, it'll have a definite detrimental effect on how we interface with each other."

The comments section in the Blu-ray forum has more handwringers than even this place!

Maybe they're the same people.

"I intuited that."
