UPDATE November 8, 2012
Looks like I WILL have Blu-Ray and regular DVD's for sale of this years Fans of Film Music Event. Email me ASAP peter @fansoffilmmusic.com to pre-order. We will be making a VERY low amount, not even 70 copies and we had roughly 109 people there so get with me quickly to secure your order and I'll tell you how to pay. DVD's are $20 and Blu-Ray's are $25. I just finished watching the Blu-Ray and I have to confess, it looks fantastic, so if you have a Blu-Ray player, I really advise you going Blu. Again, email me ASAP peter @fansoffilmmusic.com ! ! Before sending an email REMOVE the SPACE between the letter "r" and the "@" sign smile

ALL proceeds go towards putting on next years event, every nickle and dime helps us all out next year smile

Here is a tentative schedule of the weekend.

Friday August 31st at 7PM. Our meet and greet will be at FSM regular poster, Morricone's home, aka Henry Stanny and his lovely wife Nancy. Food and LIMITED alcohol will be provided, as well as sodas. If there is a particular drink you fancy, please bring it. If you have never been to Henry's home, it is a wonder to be hold. Filled from top to bottom with Hollywood memorabilia and thousands upon thousands of film music related items.

Saturday we will have two panels, one at 10AM, the other at 1:30PM. Both will be followed by an autograph signing. There will be a limit as to who many autographs you can get this year, due to the fact that last year's signing went almost three hours. We will have around 12 composers all together. We have seven composers right now and are waiting to hear back from several more, possibly in July.

Composers who are coming thus far are-Bruce Broughton, Deborah Lurie, Marco Beltrami, Theodore Shapiro, Trevor Morris, Graeme Revell, George S. Clinton and Richard Sherman.

The two panels will be hosted by film music enthusiast and Hollywood agent to some of the industry's BEST talent, Richard Kraft. The other will be moderated by Daniel Schweiger, the ace liner notes writer as well as THE MAN for all the best interviews with the composers.

I will be raffling off around four backstage passes to David Newmans Sunday September 2nd concert at the Hollywood Bowl, Paramounts 100th. Those lucky winners will follow me backstage to meet Mr. David Newman and who ever else is backstage after the concert. Last year, it was Alan Silvestri and a few composer legends. Tickets to the David Newman concert must be brought on your own. All proceeds of the raffle will go to The American Youth Symphony, http://aysymphony.org/ The fee to get into the Saturday 2 panels and 2 autograph signings is $21. Since we will be renting the Grand Ballroom of the beautiful Beverly Garland Hotel, we are asking folks to kindly donate $21. This is a completely FAN based event, put together by fans and paid for by the fans. Email me at peter @ fansoffilmmusic.com for more info and to reserve a seat.

Saturday night, many will be seeing John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets for that must be purchased on your own.

Sunday, I'm looking into finding a place where we can all have brunch or maybe a mid afternoon drink or something. More info on that will come in the coming weeks or month(s).

SOLD OUT, email me if you have questions or want to be on our wait list
peter @fansoffilmmusic.com, when sending an email, remove the space between the 'r' and the @ sign.

Thanks DMD for the info! I've been wondering about this stuff. I'm coming to L.A. sometime this year (live in NC), I have a number of things I need to do, and I will try to time it end of August / beginning of September. Thanks for all the hard work you do, and please, keep us posted on any more developments!

Hey no problem and we'd love to see you. Keep in mind I keep my website www.fansoffilmmusic.com updated so check with that. This is a strictly fan based and fan paid for event. This is an event that is all fan made and fan paid for. It's going to be a great time. I'm really looking forward to the Friday August 31st gathering, location to be determined later. That event last year was so much fun and was worth the price of coming out alone.

It's gonna be great!!

Looks like we are going to have a couple folks flying in from over seas. I'd love to hear more about our over seas friends who are coming. Tobias is coming and who else?

We'll have more updates as the weeks and months progress.

This is THE event where the fans can meet up and put a face to a name off of this great message board or off our many FaceBook pages etc.

..........................

'Hughes Party of 2' from the UK is that's okay please Peter ?

All the Best,
Gareth

Gareth,

SO glad you and Adina are coming again! I wasn't expecting you to come back so soon since it's a pretty big trip for you. This time we need to find some time to chat!

It's not real, but we can sure make one up for you! Tobias is coming from a long way too as are Gareth & Adina, but you've certainly outdistanced them.

I always thought it was about the same distance (only that you have to fly 'the other way' from Pakistan), but now that I calculate, I see it's quite a difference. Oslo (and Stockholm) is about 8600 km away, while Karachi in Pakistan is about 13400 km. I don't know about flight times, though. It takes about 17 hours from Oslo (pitstop in NY).

I might have to take Thor off my ignore list eventually. I've always liked him as a person, just got tired of his posts here. No offense Thor. I'd be happy to hang with you if you come!
