Jerry Goldsmith's TV Movie music for A STEP OUT OF LINE sounds like a giallo at times.

That's what you said two years ago. Glad I'm not the only one! wink

I'd forgotten I had already contributed; sorry for the repeat.

I do this all the time. At least my repeat responses are generally consistent with the earlier ones!

Les Gants Blancs Du Diable (1973) ~ Karl Heinz Schäfer

This is very cool. I've never heard of it. What's the film like?

I've never seen the film. The album is only 25 minutes in length, but every track is a winner. It was reissued by a French label in 2010 on both vinyl and CD, and both are already out of print.

However, there's one new copy of the CD available on the amazon marketplace for $19.99 and a few used copies for less:

And one used copy of the vinyl for $25:

Highly recommended.

EDIT: Spinning it again right now, and track 14, "Police Polka," is pretty corny. Thankfully, it lasts only 98 seconds.

Well, don't forget about the legislation that required the inclusion of at least one godawful track on every soundtrack album. wink

Thanks for the heads up on this one!

Just saw Robert Altman's "Images" for the first time, clearly influenced by Italian giallos, as is John Williams' score.

One Man Jury, Morton Stevens = funk, blue-grass, avant garde jazz, action cues that are the most atmospheric, great disco, lazy-lounge, exotica . Mort's a highly skilled technician, love this score its so quirky with loads of bounce, electronic & instrument selection is sheer perfection.

What are some others?

Give Brian May's Patrick a chance, Onya. If you like JG's Coma and Loek Dikker's Body Parts, then Patrick is a cousin to them.
