Bruce, are you releasing the score to Home Before dark? Made in 1958, it has music of Max steiner (Now Voyager), Erich Korngold and many more. He says the score is shrt and is coupling it with another short score. This is my best guess. The film, very rare, was released ;astyear on dvd byWarner Archive. Good film starring the great Jean Simmons. "It's been a year since you've touched me". (No, it's not what you're thinking. It's the 1958 Ad Poster tag for "Home Before Dark".)

On the other hand, maybe it's something like a reissue or reworking of THE GEISHA BOY, another musicians' strike film from Jerry Lewis and Paramount---where Bruce also has an access connection---and really more fun than THE GIFT OF LOVE! Do you mean Walter Scharf didn't compose that score -- or only part of it ? Imdb credits state he is the only composer and there's no mention of stock music.

From BobDiMucci in http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=78962&forumID=1&archive=0 To get back to the music for a moment, on "Rock-a-Bye Baby" (1958), even though Walter Scharf adapted and scored the film, several March 1958 Hollywood Reporter (HR) news items said that Paramount had to have the film's musical score recorded in Mexico City due to a months-long strike by Hollywood musicians. On 19 March 1958, HR's "Rambling Reporter" column claimed that Lewis himself conducted the 100-piece Mexican orchestra. According to a 3 June 1958 HR news item, a Los Angeles preview of the film was picketed by the still-striking musicians. So Manderley, didn't you actually mix MY GEISHA BOY up with ROCK-A-BYE-BABY ? Or did MY GEISHA BOY take also place during that months-long strike by Hollywood musicians ?

The title I'm talking about is fun in the sense that it's fun to do. The film is not a comedy.

On the other hand, I guess I'll throw out a little carrot and say that The Geisha Boy is coming.

Well , well ... Dear Bruce after the great BERLIN AFFAIR , I'm hoping for Richard Einhorn's SISTER SISTER. Any possibility of a re-issue ? You said that sometimes dreams can come true ....
