Tomorrow, at about 11:00 a.m., come visit us here and see artwork and track listings for two new CDs we're "pre-announcing". Normally we hold our press announcements until a day prior to shipping orders but these two releases combine to create an Intrada milestone. I hope you'll find them as exciting as we do. Enjoy fantastic soundtracks to both a major summer movie event and a genuine hit TV series sharing space on our double bill.
It's new territory for us. Thank you all for supporting us and making it all possible!
Word on the street is THE AVENGERS (Silvestri) and ONCE UPON A TIME (Isham). Exciting stuff, the boys can retire on the Silvestri alone, since the film will probably haul in 8 zillion $ in the first day.....
Well, it would appear we're in for The Avengers... This is probably the new reality for some score only releases... personally I'll gladly pay $20 for a 60-70min release. I paid half that for John Carter but I consider that (much like the film itself) an exception.
But, I doubt these specialty labels have any say as far as content. It's not like we're getting something different than what would've otherwise been distributed more widely. I guess I just chalk it up to the reality of disc-based entertainment going forward. Smaller replication means a higher cost.
Hey, if it gets the Intrada gang their well deserved mansions and yachts - I'll go watch the thing and buy the record!
Unfortunately, $1 jillion is the equivalent of $42.
Yeah, they're probably not going be getting any actual residuals for the show/movie itself. And since it's a big hit production, the studio will most likely eat up nearly the entirety of their usual profit margin. So fingers crossed that whatever it is sells a bazillion copies and at least rewards them a little bit for all their hard work...
Wrong! That thread is not on "pre-announcement" details released only yesterday. That thread was started three days ago.
Granted, the May 1st releases are the subject of both, but the older thread does not take into account Doug's announcement yesterday...and, thus, is already outdated and probably won't get attention from anyone who has already seen it.
