The rights are owned by Warner (which owns the old MGM catalog) and they have said for some years now that the reason for the hold-up in releasing this show on DVD is due to music clearance issues in two episodes, undoubtedly the "variety show" two-part episode in this series. Warner's policy is not to release something until its completely cleared (which is why the vintage Warner detective shows of the late 50s are not out) so it looks like the hold-up continues there for this show.

James Franciscus appeared at the end of a Twilight Zone segment entitled "Judgment Night".
He also stared in a cult telefilm entitled Night Slaves.
I remembered him in the spy series Hunter along with Linda Evans and Ralph Bellamy.

Also worth mentioning - a great 1970s TV movie he starred in: "One of My Wives is Missing."

Ah, "The last shark"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrzer4Np2_0 and at the ending there's even a prediction on which we all can take a poll who thinks it will come true.

Has anyone seen this 1968 Franciscus film? It's based upon a 1942 novel by Marie McSwigan that I loved as a kid. But I've never seen the film, although it's been out on a few low-cost VHS editions. It's a good one for Thor, having been filmed in Norway. Perhaps Thor also knows something about the composer--Egil Monn-Iversen.

No photo appeared here, but I assume you mean SNOW TREASURE, which was based on a favorite children's book I read, back in the mid-1950's. WWII Story about how Norwegian gold reserves were smuggled by children riding sleds! I seem to remember it was based on true events. Great book, but the movie was more about Franciscus's character, who seemed to be some kind of U.S. agent, parachuted in to manage the operation, which I don't remember from the book.

I saw it once on VHS and didn't think much of it. And I don't remember the score at all.

Though Franciscus coasted on his looks, I never thought much of him as an actor. Bland.
