Nice, I missed out on the KK Box Set so these individual releases have been most welcomed. Thanks Varese!

I'm on the fence about this one. I have Part II and listen to it often; does Part III contain much in the way of original material or is it just more of the same? I couldn't tell much from the samples, but to me they tend to suggest a rehash. Between II and III, very little rehash. II is very much its own creature, with some overlap of thematic material but not much. A lot of it is completely new. III, on the other hand, is actually a little closer to I in construction since the story returns to LA. There are some important distinctions, though. The music budget was higher, for one, so Conti got to use a bigger orchestra and thus the sound is much richer. It's also quite a bit darker as well, with the story moving out of the new-kid-in-high-school realm and into revenge. Don't get me wrong, the movie's a turd, but they were clearly going for much heavier dramatic stakes this time around and that's reflected in the music. So for what it's worth, despite some similarities in the thematic content, III has its own musical personality that's as distinct from II as II is from I.

I didn't get the box set until recently (some very generous FSMer had a good copy for $50), but I'll probably grab this for continuity's sake - I already have I and II. And yes, this is a fantastic score for a stinker of a movie. Don't get me wrong; while I am happy these scores are being reissued, I join with Henry in saying "Varese, please release some new Conti!"

I went and ordered it, thanks for the two thumbs-up! Glad to hear that Conti rose to the occasion and delivered a great score for a bad film. I look forward to getting this one! Nice! Hope you like it. Please post your thoughts after your first listen!

Wonderful score but it's movies like this that really hurts the image of karate in North America.
