KeepMoving Records presents three new CDs from three composers, two of whom make their CD debut now. We hope you'll find something interesting among these titles: Our release of Scott Benzie's Room 36 is the last stage of project started in the early 1990s. Jim Groom's story takes place in the rundown Midlothian Hotel, where a simple confusion over room numbers lead to a wild chase, murders and a chilling noir comedy atmosphere punctuated by flashes of red blood. The Hitchcock-inspired film received a Herrmann-inspired underscore by Scott Benzie, who made his feature film debut with this score. To give you an idea of how long this project took to be finished, the recording is about a decade old, the film premiered in Cannes in 2002 and had its limited release premiere in 2005, followed by its DVD release in 2010. The soundtrack release of Scott's respectful Herrmann homage hopefully marks the last leg of this endless cycle. http://www.keepmovingrecords.com/eng/disc/46/ Terry Plumeri's Night Eyes Three was written for Andrew Stevens' franchise about security expert Will Griffith and his sensual employers. In the penultimate installment of the series, Will is hired by a television star (played by Shannon Tweed) to help her solve a problem concerning her estranged husband. Plumeri's music oozes combines the sound of old noir scores with a contemporary update of passion and violence. Organized around a passionate love theme first appearing on double bass and cello, the score nonetheless offers moments of redemption and freedom, especially in its handling of Natalie, a young girl caught up in the web of conspiracy. Given the positive response to other Plumeri releases, we hope you’ll enjoy this premiere release and we may be able to bring you more music from this beloved composer. http://www.keepmovingrecords.com/eng/disc/47/ Just like Scott Benzie's score, Paul Cristo's Little Erin Merryweather is another promising debut score from a young composer, who recorded this music nearly a decade ago. The cult fan favorite was written and directed by David Morwick, who brought us a modern update of the Little Red Riding Hood mythology. Vigdis Anholt plays the titular Erin, whose scarred past makes her don a red cape and hunt for a specific type of man on a New England campus - can honor student Peter Bloom stop the murders before it's his turn? Paul's music plays on the themes of innocence to emphasize the emotional baggage of Erin, but this is also coupled with exciting and suspenseful passages of real dread, recorded in the small chapel of Boston College. http://www.keepmovingrecords.com/eng/disc/49/ Three unique scores that should have been released much earlier, each on in the limited number of 500 copies. Price: $11.99.
