Started out liking Lennertz on Supernatural, which led me to his score to Vampires Suck which I loved, which led me to Saint Sinner which I did not, and then to Starthawk. I really liked Starhawk and think it's an excellent companion to (although plentifully different from) Greg Edmonson's Firefly music.
This score is really exciting and has a terrific spin on 'western' music. Lennertz continues to impress.
Have you heard Warhawk? It is much more traditionally orchestral than Starhawk. If you liked Starhawk I think you'll like Warhawk.

No I have not. I'll give it a try. I think though that's what didn't set me on fire while listening to Saint Sinner, that it was more traditionally orchestral than the rest of Lennertz's work that I've heard and felt a bit by the numbers. I'm starting to think that I prefer his music in "less traditionally orchestral" mode, but I'll still check out Warhawk. Didn't know it existed!
I think that Starhawk is awesome! Lennertz can write one heckuva theme, and I believe I read somewhere that he enjoys working with video games because they give him a better chance to work in a great theme. I also need to check out Warhawk - maybe LLL can release that too? Who knows...
I picked up Starhawk awhile back based purely off the strength of the samples. One of those rare blind buys I was hoping would pay off, and it sure did. Great themes, fun action writing, a blast all around. I don't always listen to Starhawk, but when I do I enjoy the hell out of it. Worth your $5 and then some.
