Any news regarding this? The only information that's come up so far is that there are lots of songs and very little score, but I don't know what kind of score Alan has cooked for us this time, and I'm very interested to see.
Definitely it's another Cast Away scenario. There's only 20 minutes of music. But at least it's something different after all the blockbusters that Silvestri has been scoring lately.
Since I didn't get the original CAST AWAY CD release... Perhaps Varese would be so kind as to twofer FLIGHT with CAST AWAY onto a single disc, if applicable.

I doubt it; it's much more likely that Varese might do a second Silvestri/Zemeckis compilation disc (which was the first Cast Away release), featuring everything after that film and up to Flight.
Saw the film today. What little score there is in the film is put to great use (especially in the sequences featuring Kelly Reilly's character) while the plane crash sequence that drives the plot works great without a score. And surprisingly, the placements of songs during key scenes works well (such as the use of Cowboy Junkies' cover of "Sweet Jane" during Reilly's character's heroin overdose early on).
As for an album, I think that a song/score album could work. The score is only 20 minutes while the songs could take up an additional 40-50 minutes of run time. However, the two Rolling Stones songs in the film could be hard to license.
