THE BOURNE LEGACY

Music Composed by
James Newton Howard

Also includes a new version of
EXTREME WAYS by MOBY

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.

For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

Composer James Newton Howard follows in John Powell’s footsteps, taking on the Bourne franchise for this next film chapter evolution of Ludlum’s blockbuster saga.

The classic Bourne song “Extreme Ways” returns in this latest installment in a new version by Moby.

Universal Pictures opens THE BOURNE LEGACY nationwide on August 3.

I cannot wait either, Deputy and losher22. I'm looking forward with much anticipation to this score. JNH usually doesn't disappoint in my book.

Cool another score where JNH will go the generic MV/RCP route.

I'll probably be seeing the film so I can sample the score. Can't wait to hear what JNH does for this.

Thanks to Varese for releasing another installment in the Bourne series. Looking forward to this as well, especially after his terrific scores to Hunger Games and Snow White this year.
Like we all had discussed in the Bourne thread a while ago, I think JNH is a great choice to continue on with the series as it changes direction.

Definitely can't wait for this one. Salt was JNH in Bourne mode but keeping his orchestral sound. Also I want to know if he managed to keep some of Powell's themes or styles for the previous films.

I've decided...

yes...

...this is the release of the year for me.

------

Well, aside from La-La Land's Friday the 13th box, that is. Of course!

I simply cannot wait for this film or score...they're going to be AWESOME!!!

I just listened to the new Extreme Ways track from Moby (at least according to a few YouTube users), and it didn't sound very different from the previous incarnation, but whet my appetite all the same...!

I was wondering if there would be a scorce CD, and if so what the release date would be, and lo and behold I see this thread. Questions answered. I look forward to any JNH release.

Excellent... really looking forward to the score... especially after JNH's already great 2012... Hunger Games... Snow White and the Huntsman. The trailer's for the film also look pretty damn good. Glad to see some previous characters in this expansion of the Bourne universe.

Hope that JNH worked on the new version of Extreme Ways. Definitely this is going to sound like Salt which it was a take on Powell's electronic sound for Bourne, blended with the orchestral sound of JNH. I bet that if JNH use a theme from the trilogy it will be the chase motif.
