I've just finished watching this TV special included in the bonus features of the most recent Wizard of Oz release, and, while the transfer is as bad as every review indicates, the music in the special is terrific. It's by Lee Holdridge. I was curious if it's ever been released on compact disc. --Ben

Fantastic! Thanks for the info! I typed it into Screen Archive's search engine and they didn't have it. --Ben

I hope you can find a copy, it's, probably my favorite by Lee and I almost forgot you kids won it last year Josh. I can't remember if I told you, but that copy was donated by Lee to the event. What a guy. I had heard a couple years ago they were thinking about doing it's own release with extra features etc. and hopefully a better transfer. That transfer was one of the worst I have seen. I actually recorded it to VHS years ago, then transferred it to DVD and my copy is as good as the one on the OZ box set. Fingers crossed it comes out with better picture.

Yep. Lee is simply the best and a class act all the way.

I found this score recently and recall the 1990 TV movie. John Ritter will always have a special place in my heart - a wonderful actor and a wonderful man gone too soon. Can anyone give me an opinion and whether it is a good choice? God knows, I love Lee Holdridge! This is probably my favorite score by Lee. If you like his music usually you should really enjoy this. There are so many WONDERFUL gorgeous themes that I can't imagine anyone not liking it. The music is softer in tone and dramatic, not bombastic and all that, so if you like the quieter stuff, you'll love this score!

Thank you so much for the feedback. It is on my list for sure. Wonderful I'm so happy! Please post a note after you've listened to it!
