I love John Barry`s ON HER MAJESTY`S SECRET SERVICE, but as much as I love the expanded soundtrack cd, I was always frustrated that they left out my favourite cue from the film.

It`s the easy listening source cue heard several times in the Swiss village sequences. For instance it is played on the speakers during the skating scene with Tracy.

Does anybody know why it was not included on the expaneded cd? And, by the grace of God, do Stephen og Peter have this somewhere for me to get a copy of and then go on to live happily ever after?

Hope springs eternal!

The expanded CD is running 79.46 - this is critical maximum for CD.
And 'cause in 2003 EMI wasn't ready for 2CDs albums (as Lukas said many times), some tracks wasn't include on CD (same case with Thunderball)

Too bad they couldn't have axed the godawful Christmas Tree song.

Too bad that it's seems no-one is interesting in doing 2 CDs sets for Bond 50th Anniversary!

If I had it, I'd happily send you a copy but those instrumental source cues were not included for reasons already given.

Does anybody know the sales figures for the 2003 expanded editions?

There was the use of the original version of "The James Bond Theme" that was tracked when James Bond, Marc-Ange Drace and the forces storm Piz Gloria.

The theme you refer to could be "Who Will Buy My Yesterdays", which Barry included in his Columbia album "Ready When You Are, J.B"

He's talking about the sweeping orchestral piece that plays as source music over the town loudspeakers during the ice skating scenes.

"Who Will Buy My Yesterdays" is a piece of score that plays during Bond's love scene with the red head in the clinic.

The ice skating source music is actually one of my favorite pieces in the film.

Sadly Lukas addressed this in the print version of FSM at the time. The disc was full to bursting, and they contractually had to include everything on the original album, including "Do You Know Where Christmas Trees Are Grown?", which I was grateful for, as I love that song too - it serves as brilliantly cheerful musical counterpoint during one of my favorite tense chase scenes in all cinema.

Anyway, there was simply no room to include this piece of source music once the album had filled with score and songs. And he said he didn't want to lose any proper score at the cost of including two cheerful source pieces. (The "Xmas Trees" song and the ice skating music, both of which play over the same town loudspeakers)
