Bumping this after reading the recently bumped SUMMERTIME thread - so the discussion of other films from this period can continue.

Many widescreen films are full-frame on DVD. Off the top of my head: JOHNNY GUITAR, THE ATOMIC KID, HELL'S HALF ACRE, THE STRANGER WORE A GUN, SASKATCHEWAN, LIVING IT UP, ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET THE KEYSTONE KOPS, ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET THE MUMMY, THE DEADLY MANTIS, THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT, THE BLACK GLOVE, PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE, BRIDE OF THE MONSTER, WEST OF ZANZIBAR, RED GARTERS, etc. It's important to research the studios policy at the time of production. Many 1.37:1 films were shown widescreen during the summer/fall of 1953 before the films actually composed for wide were ready. FROM HERE TO ETERNITY began filming before Columbia changed to 1.85:1.
