Joseph Kosinski's OBLIVION, easily my most anticipated film of next year, will be scored by Anthony Gonzalez, aka M83:

I thought TRON: LEGACY was an unrecognized visual masterpiece and one of the most stunning debut films I've ever seen, with the best score of the last few years. I can't wait to see and hear Kosinski's second film.

As long as he doesn't bring Zimmer in to dick around with the score and make it sound nothing like the credited composer's style, it should be okay.

Is that true about TRON: LEGACY? I thought it was just a film buff urban legend.

Regardless, I loved the LEGACY score exactly as it was, no matter who created it.

Tron: Legacy was the combination of a bunch of people, including Daft Punk, Joseph Trapanese, and Zimmer's RCP

Disney brought Zimmer's company in after test screenings and their involvement is listed in the liner notes of the CD.

They are thanked but I don't think any of the RC/MV people actually CREATED music nor do I think Zimmer ghost wrote.

Having loved LEGACY and having read all the speculation, I'm surprised the composers or Zimmer haven't taken credit unlike most RC/MV additional music composers that do state what they worked on.

I personally think its bullshit since TRON LEGACY has very much that DAFT PUNK sound and believe me, I want more of that music and I don't feel any of the composers thanked has or could provide more.

This seems like a project far from the radar of Zimmer and Co. much like HANNA or ATTACK THE BLOCK or GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Remember that Tron's from Disney. When they don't have Giacchino, they go with Zimmer's company. It's very much in their territory.

And here's why Tron Legacy sounds nothing like a Daft Punk project: get out a Daft Punk album and then listen to Tron Legacy. Can you name a place anywhere in their albums that's a blatant ripoff of The Terminator and Inception? The guys have way more talent than that. And I can't see it being a case of temp track love either.

In short, there had to have been much tampering with the score.

Do you have any sources to back up this wild speculation Buscemi?

I was under the impression from all the interviews I've read that Daft Punk merely sought advice from Zimmer and the other composers thanked, with Bruce Broughton working more directly with them on the orchestration.

This is what I thought too and considering the worked with The London Symphony Orchestra, it never hurts to get help the first time around.

I'm sure they had to deal with some sort of temp track but for the most part I found the score to be very original quite elegant for the film.

Still, I'd love for someone to say what tracks they worked on!

M83 doing a score, wow, this is great. I love songs like Reunion and Midnight City. That Kosinski guy is real innovative when it comes to film scores. First Daft Punk, now this.

I'll tell ya, I'm digging the hell out of this. Oblivion just went to the top of my most anticipated score of the year list.

The released track sounds brilliant.

I'm really looking forward to this score -- it's right up my alley.

Yes. Yes. YES.

I don't know how time will eventually treat director Joseph Kosinski (but I did thoroughly enjoy TRON: Legacy as Disney Fantasy Action/Adventure) but his musical direction is simply flawless. Keep up these incredible and off-beat choices.

This is fantastic. Can't wait to hear the rest of the score. Judging by the one track, it's great to see artists bring their own signature to film scoring, very much like Daft Punk was so successful in doing with TRON Legacy. There's no question its a score by M83...Kudos to Kosinski.

No question, this is gonna be awesome! Have any of you guys heard Trapanese's score for the TRON: Uprising TV series? If you love TRON Legacy it'll be right up your alley, believe me.

Absolutely. Trapanese's UPRISING is nice and a good interpretation of the Daft Punk sound -- albeit not quite as engaging and original.

Very nice tune. I didn't really get the credits though: Original Music by M83. Score composed by Gonzalez and Trapanese. What's the difference between music and score here??
