I just finished a very brief internet search of The Godfather cd scores. I would love to purchase a future new release (which would be remastered and an expansion) of the original scores from the trilogy in a fairly priced multi-cd set. Is this something that might be possible given the current working arrangements between Paramount and any of our favorite film score reissue labels? I just got around to watching GIII from the blu-ray Coppola restoration of the trilogy, and all three films look fantastic.
I just popped in my cd to the first movie. Hadn't heard it in years. I forgot what a shoddy production it is! Beautiful music but a poorly put together album. Clearly it needs major work. II is quite a bit better. I'd love to see an expanded box set!!!
A carefully remastered and expanded Godfather CD-collection would be one of my greatest dreams come true and it puzzles me to no end that this wonderful score rarely pops up on anybody else's personal grails list.
But the real bummer is what MV has to say about this matter:
Difficult, but "never say never releases":
ALIEN 3 (COMPLETE) DAMNATION ALLEY (FULL) OLD MAN AND THE SEA BATMAN AND ROBIN THE GODFATHER 1,2,3 BEVERLY HILLS COP 1,2,3 TOP GUN SPIDERMAN 3 THE KEEP BLADE RUNNER (PROPER COMPLETE RELEASE) GHOSTBUSTERS 2 THE BAD SEED SUGARLAND EXPRESS
To name a few...
I speak from experience. Hopefully one day a miracle will occur.
