The film is simply a mess. It was originally shot as a drama and the dramatic scenes work, but the reshoots turned it into a comedy and those scenes stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm a Debney fan, and the samples sounded good, so I ordered it... but man oh man, what a turkey of a film.

Saw this film last night. I loved Debney's score in it, especially during the more dramatic moments, but unfortunately, there weren't very many of them. Great idea, but bad execution. The comedy bits felt forced. If they would have kept this as more of a drama with some light humor, it would have been a lot better. Debney is such a talented composer in my opinion. He has great melodies. I wish he would get some bigger, more dramatic projects.

It's funny how people wants Debney to get big proyects but when he does (Iron Man, Predators, etc) he's bashed. Anyway, he has the upcoming I, Alex Cross (and recently, The Double).

I don't bash Debney. While I enjoy his softer, more melodic scores better, he's written solid scores for bigger action features like the 2 mentioned above. And the reason I want him to get better assignments is so that he gets more recognition and pay. He does seem to be overlooked for the most part.
