Cool! You're lucky to still have a turntable.

Indeed. I bought a new Denon turntable last year. This week I have been playing stuff like Serra's Subway, Howard's Promised Land, Silvestri's No Mercy and Bøhren/Åserud's Nattseilere. Enjoyable!

I got the LP now, in perfect condition. Really cool music, it's very much a "Berlin School" score, with lots of sequencers. Not extremely melodic perhaps, but some of it reminded me a bit of Gary Chang's work during the same time.

A bit surprising that this score has never been mentioned when people talk about 80s synth scores. But I guess the fact that both the film and the composer are quite unknown is one reason.

Wow. Are there liner notes on these releases? Would be interesting to read it.

There are indeed liner notes First Breath, featuring new interviews with Eric Allaman, Carey Lowell and Linda Kerridge. I wrote 'em!

Did you try to get hold of Albert Pyun too?

Amazingly, I posted this thread in 2012, but only got the soundtrack just now. No Oingo Boingo there, sadly, but an awesome, TD-style score. Can't believe I took so long to get around to it.

Worth noting in this dedicated thread that the CD edition of this album is still on a great sale (under $10) from Varese at the moment...

Yeah, that's why I ressurected the thread.

A great deal, folks (especially if you live in the US).

Now...who is this Reinhard Scheuregger guy who co-composed with Allaman, and why didn't you originally mention him, Thor?

No idea. I'm as 'blank' about this as I was in 2012. I just seeked this out because of the Oingo Boingo connection, and got a great TD-style score in return! smile

If you picked up the new CD, do the liner notes say anything?

No CD, alas. Just a digital copy of the music files.

I believe Scheuregger was a member of Berlin Game along with Allaman.
