FRIDAY, JULY 20
ROBOPOCALYPSE---Chris Hemsworth (THOR, THE AVENGERS) has been chosen by Steven Spielberg to star in this movie based on the novel about group of human survivors after a global robot revolt. Hemsworth has not signed yet.
JACK RYAN---Kenneth Branagh (THOR) will direct the untitled prequel and is in negotiations to play the main villain, Viktor Stazov, a Russian financial genius who conspires with the Russian government to wreck the US economy by devaluing the US currency.
THE NEWSROOM---HBO confirmed that Aaron Sorkin has fired up to half of the writing staff for Season 2. However, one source claimed Sorkin fired all of the writing staff except Corrine Kinsbury, his ex-girlfriend, "They're not coming back, except Sorkin's ex-girlfriend."
THOR 2---Mads Mikkelsen (CASINO ROYALE) is longer starring as the villain due to schedule problem, but stuntman James Grogan's comments hinted at Mikkelsen's villain role, "I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said 'Look, we want you all to be elves,' and I was like 'What the h*ll is an elf anyway?' and he said 'I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,' honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it." This led to speculation that the elves are the Dark Elves of Svartlalfheim and Mikkelsen would have played their leader, Malekith the Accursed.
THE WOLVERINE---Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) is in talks to replace Jessica Biel as Viper.
THE DINOSAUR PROJECT---poster released for the "found-film" movie about a father and son who lead an ill-fated expedition to find dinosaurs in the Congo.
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES---Lena Headey (GAME OF THRONES) and Jared Harris (MAD MEN) join the cast of the movie based on the first of the fantasy novel series in which half-angels battle demons, vampires, werewolves and other creatures in New York.
MEN IN BLACK 4---Sony Pictures confirmed the fourth movie in the series is planned along with a sequel to 21 JUMP STREET and a reboot of 1995's JUMANJI which starred Robin Williams.
PARANOIA---Josh Holloway (LOST) will play an FBI agent in this movie about corporate espionage. Liam Hemsworth, Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman star.
MODERN FAMILY---Fred Willard, who plays Phil Dunphy's father on MODERN FAMILY and was the host of PBS' MARKET WARRIORS, was fired by PBS after he was arrested in a Los Angeles adult theater on suspicion of committing a lewd act and was "caught with his pants down and his genitals exposed." He denied the charge and said it was, "a big misunderstanding." The movies being shown were FOLLOW ME 2, STEP DAD NO. 2 and an X-rated parody of THE CLIENT LIST.
PARKS AND RECREATION---Senators John McCain, Barbara Boxer and Olympia Snowe will be guest stars.
REVENGE---Jennifer Jason Leigh (ROAD TO PERDITION, daughter of Vic Morrow) joins the cast as Emily's mother.

A joke considering the US bankers are valiantly trying to destroy the Euro because it was threatening to take over as the world's currency.
